[USA] Postdoc Position Optimization at Stanford University

Optimization and Numerical Modeling of Petroleum Reservoirs

The Smart Fields Consortium is seeking a scientist or engineer with a strong background in optimization and numerical modeling of large, highly complex systems. The individual selected will work on and coordinate research programs on the development and application of optimization, model updating and uncertainty propagation techniques for optimizing production from petroleum reservoirs. Techniques suitable for optimizing related processes such as the geological sequestration of carbon dioxide will also be considered. The candidate must have a Ph.D. degree from a recognized university in engineering, computer sciences, or a related science. Previous experience on the development and use of optimization codes for large systems and strong computational skills will be an asset.
