[UK] PhD Studentship in Veterinary Research at University of Nottingham

An Investigation in to the Significance of Hock Lesions in UK Dairy Cattle.

Project Supervisors: Dr Jon Huxley and Professor Martin Green (School of Veterinary Medicine & Science) and Dr John Harris (School of Biosciences)

A postgraduate student is required with a background in either animal or veterinary science to undertake a three year research project leading to a PhD degree.

The successful student will undertake high quality training in the design and implementation of large scale field based surveys, handling and statistical analysis of large data sets, veterinary pathology and the assessment of pain in cattle. They will follow the guidelines established by The University of Nottingham for the training of postgraduate students, attending all necessary courses. The student will be based at the University of Nottingham’s Sutton Bonington campus.

Students should have an upper second class degree or better in biological/biomedical/veterinary sciences. Those with a 2.2, but with a relevant MSc or MPhil will also be considered.

This studentship, which is available from January 2007, only provides funding for students from the UK/EU.
