[UK] PhD Studentship in Healthcare - University of Leeds

Health professionals and people with a health-related degree (at first or upper second class or Masters) are invited to apply for a three year PhD studentship, starting in September or October 2006. You will receive an annual tax-free stipend in the range £ 12,000 to £ 13,000, with increases in years 2 and 3, plus tuition fees and an annual research expenses allowance. You will be able to undertake some paid employment by mutual agreement. The competition is open to non-EU citizens but the studentship will only pay course fees at the EU rate – the balance is payable by the student in these cases.

    Health literacy and lifestyle choice;
    Social influence, diet and physical activity;
    Supporting Informed Lifestyle Choices in Primary Care.

    6. Symptom Management and Chronic Illness Care

    (Supervised by Professor Jose Closs & Dr Andrea Nelson)
    The development of self-management programme for leg ulceration

    (Supervised by Professor Claire Hale & Dr Jackie Hill)
    Developing and evaluating a patient education programme based on the Arthritis Educational Needs Assessment Tool, for patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis.

    7. Wellbeing of women and infants
