[UK] 2006-2007 Postgraduate Scholarships at City University London
Applications are now open for the following postgraduate scholarships for the 2006/07 academic year. The closing date for applications is 31 October 2006.
The Sir John Cass’s Foundation Postgraduate ScholarshipsThe Sir John Cass’s Foundation has up to �40,000 of postgraduate scholarships to award in 2006/7 to students from inner London studying at City University. The maximum value of an award will be �10,000 depending on circumstances. The awards will go towards living expenses and tuition fees and are intended to relieve financial hardship. Applications are invited from students who meet the following criteria:
- resident in inner London for more than 3 years
- under the age of 25
- achieved at least a 2:1 undergraduate degree
- from a low income background
- studying on a full time taught Masters programme and not already in possession of a postgraduate qualification
- Priority will be given to students with a disability
Please ensure you read the eligibility criteria provided on the application form carefully before you submit your application.
Shirley Robson Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was first awarded in 2004 in memory of Shirley Robson, mother of University council member Mark Robson. The scholarship value is �1000 for one year to an undergraduate or postgraduate student of Music at City University. In the words of Mark Robson:
“Three School of Arts students have now benefited from a Shirley Robson Memorial Scholarship, established after my mother died in 2003. She would have been as delighted to meet each of them at the annual awards ceremony as I and my family have been. �1000 can make a huge difference, and the enthusiasm and gratitude of these scholars has been rather humbling for me. It has been a huge pleasure and an honour to be able to provide a little help this way.”
To apply for the Shirley Robson, download the application form (same as Undergraduate form) and return it to the Student Funds Service by the deadline.
